Overview
Health Services staff members believe that healthy living is for everyone and provide ongoing assessments and interventions, education, and referrals for children and their families. In addition, a maintenance and prevention model is promoted. School nurses are available at all school sites. Health Services provides vision, hearing, scoliosis, dental screening, and health and developmental assessments and updates. They also provide Family Life and HIV education for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th-grade students and staff in-services on blood-borne pathogens, immunization requirements, medication administration, and disease/illness prevention.
